The artist is attracted to subject matter that is generally overlooked\, often making them larger than life so all the delicate and intricate detail is available for all to see. Most of the artist’s still lifes explore reflective surfaces\, like metal or glass\, which adds dimension\, creating a picture within a picture. “I like the idea that these paintings take simple marbles and turn them into large colorful orbs\, raising them into art\, “ enthused Roney. Viewing these paintings\, one comes away with a renewed appreciation for those small objects in our world we often do not take the time to actually see. \nRoney has been in love with art her entire life\, turning to serious painting in 1993. Alter losing her house to the 2017 wildfire\, Roney misses most the momentos that made up their lives\, those little objects collected that reflected their life experiences.
