Learn directly from the winemakers how they work with the wines after harvest\, before the wine is bottled. We look forward to hosting Barrel Tasting March 3-6\, 2022 / 44 Wineries\, $120 for the Weekend (Sat & Sun) \nTicket Sales have Ended \nThe magic of Barrel Tasting is to get into the cellar and taste wines directly from the barrels. Almost all of the wineries are selling futures this year – so plan now to taste…then buy the future! \nMany of the wines being offered are so limited they will sell out as futures. After you sample from the barrel\, most wineries will also have a few current vintage wines for you to try\, so you can buy wine to take home…to hold you over\, waiting for those “futures” to get bottled! \nTasting will be by reservation only\, allowing you to visit 5 wineries per day. This is different from years past. There are no tickets sold at the door. Wineries need to limit the number of people on their property at any given time. We currently cannot allow groups of more than six people – please do not place multiple orders and try to combine them when you arrive. Some wineries will not host groups over 4 people. Five wineries are requiring proof of vaccination. They are noted in the program details. \nRegarding Reservations: \n1. Reservations times are as follows: 11:00am\, 12:15pm\, 1:30pm\, 2:45pm. 4:00pm \n2. All reservations are 50 minutes for tasting and 25 minutes to drive to your next winery \n3. Total guests for reservation includes everyone in the party\, including the Designated Driver. \nTicket Sales Have Ended \nTicket Prices: \n$120 – Weekend ticket (Sat & Sun)\n$200 – Need more time…get a 4-day ticket (Thursday March 3 – Sunday March 6)\n$75 – Only have a day ~Thursday ONLY or Sunday ONLY\n$10 – 4-day Designated Driver (all “driver” income is donated to the Redwood Empire Food Bank)\n$5 – Thurs Only or Sun Only Designated Driver\nThere are no Friday only or Saturday only tickets. \n☑️ Events may require Reservations or have COVID restrictions. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. Mimi has a passion for reviving songs from times gone by as sung by Edith Piaf\, Jacques Brel\, and their contemporaries. At age thirteen Mimi began her singing career in Saint Germain en Laye as a member of Atelier Chanson\, a Paris music association\, learning to harmonize melodies and take leading roles performing traditional and contemporary French songs. At age seventeen Mimi moved to California where she and her brother\, Gabe\, began performing regularly at local venues. Mimi and Gabe formed the band\, Dgiin\, which earned The North Bay Music Awards\, “Best World Music Band”\, for it’s unique\, high energy mix of gypsy\, flamenco\, with a touch of funk. Their repertoire included songs in French\, Spanish\, and English. Today Mimi sings with the band\, SonoMusette\, where she explores and exudes her favorite musical styles and songs. \nJoin us on Saturdays for live music in our tasting room! But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration.
