DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. The class will be outside\, weather permitting with lots of fresh air and stations will be spaced according to Sonoma County’s Covid Guidelines. You will also get to sip on Ketcham Estate wines. First glass of wine is on me! You can purchase additional glasses for $8 each or share a bottle with some friends. \nKids’ Cooking Class \nI will be cooking with the kids in Ketcham’s amazing kitchen. Kids will create individual Baked Ziti\, Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles and Lemon Strawberry Shortcake Cups. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. You’ll also receive that same bottle of Breathless Sparkling Wine\, newly opened by your own hand\, to enjoy on the property. \n☑️ Events may require Reservations or have COVID restrictions.
