The Upstairs Art Gallery’s Silver Anniversary is a 25 Bonanza: 25 artists celebrate 25 years on the 25th of June\, donating 25% to help the community. Gallery artists unite to fete the Gallery’s Silver Anniversary and present Celebrating Art\, a collection of works expressing each artist’s celebratory inspiration. Twenty-five percent of the profits from art sales will go to Farm to Pantry\, a Healdsburg non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. The Upstairs Art Gallery’s Silver Anniversary is a 25 Bonanza: 25 artists celebrate 25 years on the 25th of June\, donating 25% to help the community. Gallery artists unite to fete the Gallery’s Silver Anniversary and present Celebrating Art\, a collection of works expressing each artist’s celebratory inspiration. Twenty-five percent of the profits from art sales will go to Farm to Pantry\, a Healdsburg non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger. Lee are two kindred spirits who first met on the banks of the Mississippi while touring the Midwest festival circuit. Born and raised in Arkansas\, Winter found herself drawn to the evergreens and damp air of the Pacific Northwest\, as well as the boundless music scene of Olympia\, Washington. She released three solo records on Olympia-based indie label\, K Records\, and performed in ramblin’ folk bands and anarchic punk bands before serendipitously meeting Palmer T. Lee in 2013. Lee had built his first banjo when he was 19 from pieces he inherited and began cutting his teeth fronting Minneapolis string bands before convincing Winter that they should form a banjo duo. Gallery artists unite to fete the Gallery’s Silver Anniversary and present Celebrating Art\, a collection of works expressing each artist’s celebratory inspiration. Twenty-five percent of the profits from art sales will go to Farm to Pantry\, a Healdsburg non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger.
