DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n“Home” The Art Exhibit at Healdsburg Center for the Arts 2022\nAfter twenty years serving the community on Plaza Street\, Healdsburg Center for the Arts has relocated to a new home at 334 Center St. This transition inspired the show’s idea of exploring the concept of home. With this theme we want to celebrate and reflect on change and the longing for stability. \nThe synonyms for home are many – dwelling\, shelter\, hearth. Homes may have different forms : castles\, cottages and huts. Animals homes such nest\, roosts\, dens are also creative structures .\nFrom homeland to hometown \, to home grown to home run\, the words convey our personal stories. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nAbstract Collage and the Creative Process Workshop at The Healdsburg Center for the Arts\nThis workshop is designed for people with no previous art experience as well as artists interested in exploring a new medium. Participants will create an abstract collage on a 12”x12” wood panel. They will choose papers from a wide collection of hand-painted\, patterned\, and vintage papers\, selecting images that speak to them\, literal images or abstract shapes and patterns. \nCatherine provides a non-judgmental and supportive setting where participants can feel comfortable and challenge themselves to respond intuitively to their art while unleashing their creativity. She will discuss layering materials\, creating texture\, how to create a composition and abstraction\, and at the end\, they will participate in a group share. All materials are provided. \nExplore abstract collage with French artist Catherine Cruz and dive into the creative process and let go of what is holding you back. \nWe are asking students to provide proof of vaccination upon arrival. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nExplore Jordan’s vast estate with a unique hiking adventure in Healdsburg\nYour guided journey begins at the Winery Chateau Bacchus courtyard\, where you’ll taste estate breakfast bites and depart by foot on the four-mile hike on Jordan’s private trail\, which begins and ends at the winery and traverses hills and valleys with an elevation change of about 300 feet. This moderate hike passes through woods\, meadows and sustainably farmed vineyards before a break at Vista Point\, the highest hilltop of this peaceful 1\,200-acre ranch\, boasting a sweeping panorama of multiple wine regions and mountain ranges. \nYou will then descend into Jordan’s olive orchards and hike around the lake and cattle pasture to reach the chef’s garden and apiary. During the moderately strenuous hike\, you’ll learn about Jordan’s new pollinator sanctuary plantings—open space that has been dedicated to creating habitat for vital pollinators\, including the endangered Western monarch butterfly. The experience culminates on the winery terrace for a charcuterie picnic with wine pairing at your own table\, featuring current releases of Jordan Russian River Chardonnay and Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon\, artisan cheese pairings\, special selections by Journeyman Meat Co.\, and a beautiful salad\, featuring fresh vegetables and greens from our garden\, as well as foraged edibles from the estate. \n\nTickets go on sale March 22 at 9 a.m. PST and will be available until sold out.\n\n☑️ Events may require Reservations or have COVID restrictions.
