DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. Meet the Artist: Morgan will be hosting the gallery Thursday\, April 10 and Sunday\, April 24\, 2022\, from 2:30 -6pm in addition to the April 3rd Reception (3-5pm). \n☑️ Events may require Reservations or have COVID restrictions. The courses are an out and back style\, boasting of continuous rolling hills surrounding beautiful Lake Sonoma. And though the courses may feel relentless\, they favor an ability to connect with other runners\, providing opportunity for high-fives and well wishes. When it comes to performance\, these are perfect events for speedsters looking to test their fitness\, and for the first timers who are looking for a challenging\, yet encouraging course. In true trail community fashion\, the Lake Sonoma 50 Mile and Marathon embraces the opportunity for participants to support one another\, to inspire one another\, and to celebrate with one another. \nSpeaking of celebrating\, we will have a full schedule of pre and post race events\, including athlete panels\, community dinner\, socials\, and of course wine tastings. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMagical Mystery 2022 Art Exhibit in Healdsburg\nHealdsburg’s Upstairs Art Gallery features Sonoma County artist\, Gail Morgan\, as she presents Magical Mystery\, a collection of monotype abstracts that express the intriguing\, and sometimes spiritual\, mysteries of creating art. Morgan draws inspiration from Einstein: “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Gleaning her theme from nature\, landscape elements\, or figurative shapes\, the artist explores this mystery as she works. Form evokes memory and color inspires emotion – the artist chooses a palette depending on her mood\, keeping the color consistent throughout a day of printing. Each piece is unique and original because the ink\, usually oil-based or encaustic\, is transferred once to the paper and does not remain on the printing plate. At the end of a good day\, Morgan will have something that moves her\, that is right. “Working abstractly is a process of self-discovery; it is introspective and helps me connect with something mysterious deep inside\, something spiritual. I never know what it will be\, and that is the magic\,” noted the artist. These pieces invite the viewer to experience the deep connections of form and color that emerged during the creative process. Morgan has loved art since a very young age – her mother\, an artist\, was her first teacher. Her degree is in Art History and she continues her studies locally and in San Miguel Allende. She exhibits with Art at the Source (first two weekends in June) and in local galleries. Students will have the opportunity to advance by learning to copy master paintings. It also provides a comfortable exercise for anyone’s very first effort with watercolor. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMiniatures Exhibition call for Artists in Healdsburg 2022\nDo you have some little works of art less than 12 inches in any direction? Let us see it! All genres welcome: paintings\, crafts\, photos\, wood works\, multi-media\, ceramics\, sculpture\, jewelry. Make sure it’s under 12 inches and ready to hang/exhibit. \n\nExhibit dates: May 7th to June 19th. Deadline for entries: April 10 Notification from: April 15 Artists’ Reception: May 7\, 5 – 7 PM\n\nAll applications must be made through EntryThingy. All work must be original work. Photos included in the application must be actual photos of the work the artist hopes to exhibit. Artists will be informed via email about the Juror’s selection no later than April 25. Selection by the Jurors will be final. Entry fees: $40 for up to 3 entries for non-members; $30 for members. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n“Home” The Art Exhibit at Healdsburg Center for the Arts 2022\nAfter twenty years serving the community on Plaza Street\, Healdsburg Center for the Arts has relocated to a new home at 334 Center St. This transition inspired the show’s idea of exploring the concept of home. With this theme we want to celebrate and reflect on change and the longing for stability. \nThe synonyms for home are many – dwelling\, shelter\, hearth. Homes may have different forms : castles\, cottages and huts. Animals homes such nest\, roosts\, dens are also creative structures .\nFrom homeland to hometown \, to home grown to home run\, the words convey our personal stories. The Odyssey is a historic quest to return home\, and in modern times we still struggle with immigration and homelessness. \n\nThe Opening Reception is Saturday March 26 5-7PM\n\n☑️ Events may require Reservations or have COVID restrictions. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber.
