DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nFree “Second Sunday” Jazz Concert at St. Paul’s Church in Healdsburg\nSt. Paul’s “Second Sunday” concerts take a thoroughly modern turn with jazz saxophonist Jonathan Bautista joining pipe-organist Andrew Chislett in improvisations on the compositions of modern jazz greats Miles Davis\, Herbie Hancock\, Duke Ellington and others. The public is welcome\, and there is no admission fee. The concert will be streamed live and available later on the church’s YouTube channel. Bautista is a Bay Area saxophonist\, composer and educator who has played with James Wiliams\, Pete Escovedo and John Santos. Bautista attended the San Francisco School of the Arts and San Jose State University\, doing his graduate work at the Manhattan School of Music. He also plays classical music with the San Jose Symphony and the Monterey Bay Symphony. Chislett is the Director of Music and Organist at the First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto. These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n“That’s Amore” Art Exhibit at the Upstairs Art Gallery\nSonoma County artists\, Linda Barretta\, Beverly Bird\, Sally Cataldo\, Marsha Connell\, Willow LaLand\, Karen Miller\, Gail Morgan\, Carolyn Wilson present “That’s Amore”! These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. Thinking of Dean Martin\, one does not have to back to “old Napoli” to rekindle the amore spirit.
