DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nTeen & Tween Studio: Painting & Drawing\nThis class is limited to 8 students. Join HCA?s Teen/Tween Studio art program for skill-based art making and hands-on projects and activities in ongoing 6-week sessions. Whether students are learning a new art practice or developing their technical and conceptual skills\, they explore a variety of visual art media\, experiment with techniques and materials\, and dive deep into the creative process. This first 6-week session will focus on painting and drawing in a studio setting. We will cover a range of disciplines from figure drawing in charcoal to simple still life in pastel to landscape painting in gouache to self-portraits in acrylic. As we mix it up\, students are introduced to diverse art making practices\, ideas as well as contemporary and historical masters. Our artists/instructors are experienced art educators who will rotate based on the specific discipline being offered in any one of our 6-week sessions. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n“That’s Amore” Art Exhibit at the Upstairs Art Gallery\nSonoma County artists\, Linda Barretta\, Beverly Bird\, Sally Cataldo\, Marsha Connell\, Willow LaLand\, Karen Miller\, Gail Morgan\, Carolyn Wilson present “That’s Amore”! These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. Thinking of Dean Martin\, one does not have to back to “old Napoli” to rekindle the amore spirit. These gallery artists’ various expressions celebrating this Valentine season. Wilson’s mixed media piece\, “Judy’s Sunflower\,” shouts amore in its bold cheerful explosion of color. Like rays of sunshine\, this piece would brighten anyone’s day. Miller’s contribution is “Calla Lilies for Mom\,” a pastel painting highlighting the flowers’ natural grace in a rich setting of luscious reds. Morgan’s “Jazz\,” a monoprint\, likewise strikes notes of red as its jazzy abstract shapes channel the unique musical genre. Bird takes us south of the border to savor the red wine in “Vino de Doña Lupe\,” an acrylic painting starring the wine label featuring the Doña amongst the vines. Thinking of Dean Martin\, one does not have to back to “old Napoli” to rekindle the amore spirit. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe Art of Sabrage! An Outdoor Winery Experience at Breathless Wines\nWe love all the rituals of champagne\, from the release of the wire cage to that first effervescent pour. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber.
