Working in acrylics or oils\, she glazes layer upon layer until she senses the emergence of the wine’s multiple complex elements. Grounded in hyper-realistic vineyard landscapes\, these works connect the viewer to the land that produces these world-renowned varieties. “Robert Young” transports the viewer on a high-tone experience of multi-hued wine with a richly rendered Sonoma vineyard in the background. “I love bringing out the subtle but bold notes in these exemplary wines\,” noted LaLand. The artist’s Fauve painting series grew out of the popularity of these paintings in primary colors. \nA third-generation artist\, LaLand began exhibiting her paintings at an early age. She is inspired by early American realists\, such as John Frederick Peto and uses techniques developed by 17th century painters to achieve dramatic realism. LaLand has exhibited widely and is internationally collected. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber. Working in acrylics or oils\, she glazes layer upon layer until she senses the emergence of the wine’s multiple complex elements. Grounded in hyper-realistic vineyard landscapes\, these works connect the viewer to the land that produces these world-renowned varieties. “Robert Young” transports the viewer on a high-tone experience of multi-hued wine with a richly rendered Sonoma vineyard in the background. “I love bringing out the subtle but bold notes in these exemplary wines\,” noted LaLand. The artist’s Fauve painting series grew out of the popularity of these paintings in primary colors. \nA third-generation artist\, LaLand began exhibiting her paintings at an early age. She is inspired by early American realists\, such as John Frederick Peto and uses techniques developed by 17th century painters to achieve dramatic realism. LaLand has exhibited widely and is internationally collected. Who are some of the musicians who used their music to speak out on injustices? What were the freedom songs about? Healdsburg Jazz Artistic Director Marcus Shelby will answer these questions and more in a presentation and interactive listening session and discussion on the legacy and role of music during the civil rights movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Music composed and recorded by Charles Mingus\, Sonny Rollins\, Abbey Lincoln\, Max Roach\, Nina Simone\, John Coltrane\, and many others will be featured including rare videos. The presentation will feature freedom songs\, spirituals\, rhythm and blues\, and other forms of black music that was the source of inspiration during the movement. Moving easily from classical to jazz to world music styles as a pianist\, composer and conductor\, Prutsman continues to explore and seek common ground and relationships in the music of all cultures and languages. \nFrom 2004-2007 Stephen was Artistic Partner with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra\, where he conducted concertos from the keyboard\, performed in chamber ensembles\, conducted works of living composers\, developed and arranged collaborations for their Engine 408 series of contemporary and world music\, and wrote several new works for the orchestra. Working in acrylics or oils\, she glazes layer upon layer until she senses the emergence of the wine’s multiple complex elements. Grounded in hyper-realistic vineyard landscapes\, these works connect the viewer to the land that produces these world-renowned varieties. “Robert Young” transports the viewer on a high-tone experience of multi-hued wine with a richly rendered Sonoma vineyard in the background. “I love bringing out the subtle but bold notes in these exemplary wines\,” noted LaLand. The artist’s Fauve painting series grew out of the popularity of these paintings in primary colors. \nA third-generation artist\, LaLand began exhibiting her paintings at an early age. She is inspired by early American realists\, such as John Frederick Peto and uses techniques developed by 17th century painters to achieve dramatic realism. LaLand has exhibited widely and is internationally collected. But the most exciting ceremony is the traditional art of sabrage\, using an authentic saber to open a bottle of sparkling wine. The legend behind sabrage is connected to The French Revolution when Napoleon\, a noted fan of Champagne\, would take victorious rides through the countryside. As he and his cavalry passed through the towns\, villagers lined the streets to toss them bottles of Champagne in celebration. Unable to open the bottles by hand from their horses\, the soldiers simply struck them open using their sabers. \nIn the Breathless sabrage experience\, receive one-on-one instruction from our experienced guide who will teach you the proper technique of opening a bottle of Champagne using impact from the blunt side of a saber.
