Dog Friendly Parks
Healdsburg is easily one of the most dog friendly places on earth! More pets are adopted here than you can imagine. Simply stroll down our streets and when you come across one of our neighbors walking their pup, ask them, “Where’d you get this little rascal?” More often than not, you’ll hear he or she “is a rescue!”
People love dogs around here and adopting loving critters is simply a way of life for us! So, it’s no surprise that we provide such ample space for them to discover, roam, swim or catch wild frisbees! (they always catch and release)
All parks within Healdsburg’s city limits are dog-friendly parks, though in most you have to keep your pup on a leash.
However, if you want to let Rover run free, there are three parks in Healdsburg (listed below) where both little pups and big dogs rule. Two have fenced-in areas – in case your rascal listens like a teenager – and one is a hidden spot only locals know about where there’s total free range access for your canine accomplice to wander, discover, run free – or even take a dip (‘water dogs’ are most welcome).
So, if you need to let your pup run free or just roll around all rascally in some tall grass, Healdsburg’s got you covered like a herd of hounds on a country porch!
Always remember to read your park’s signs, obey any leash requirements and bring a few baggies (in case spot squats).
Now go have some fun rollin’ around on the grass!
* Some events are seasonal, so check our “Happenings” calendar for more information, and other events!
