DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nSanta’s Workshop for Children and Families in Healdsburg\nJoin us for holiday fun as we create bright and seasonal works of art for gift giving and decorating. We’ll have 5-6 “Creation Stations” set up where we’ll make cardboard gingerbread houses\, paper mosaic Christmas trees\, tiny wooden villages\, collage Santas\, printed wrapping paper\, eco ornaments and more. Adults may drop-off children with a snack while you shop or join in on the fun to create delightful holiday memories. Preregistration is required and mandatory. \nDue to Covid\, we can only accept 15 people in the classroom at a time. Masks are mandatory. We will also have outdoor stations\, weather permitting. A Star Book Ornament is a book that is a star that is an ornament that is a keepsake book — all in one! This book makes a wonderful gift for the holidays or any other time throughout the year. Star Book Ornaments are beautiful on a shelf or as a standing or hanging decoration. \nThis workshop provides bookmaking and paper crafters with an opportunity to have fun\, explore a new creative outlet\, and plant seeds of ideas of how books may be incorporated with existing personal art practices. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nCeramics – Wheel and Hand Building in Healdsburg High School\nJoin Linus Lancaster in the Healdsburg High School ceramics studio for the first in a series of monthly clay classes. Learn how to throw pottery on the wheel to form functional pieces such as cups\, bowls\, and plates. Through individual guidance and repetition\, students will develop skills in throwing techniques. There are 5-6 pottery wheels in the room\, so\, everyone will have multiple turns. \nIn addition to the wheel\, the focus will be on the hand-building techniques; pinch\, coil\, and slabs. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. This class can accommodate beginning potters as well as those with previous throwing experience. Repeating students are encouraged to sign up. \nPlease note: This class includes clay\, 2 kiln firings\, and glazes. Since all thrown pieces require two kiln firings\, pieces will not be available for pickup until approximately 7-10 days after class ends.
