Abstract Collage and the Creative Process Workshop at The Healdsburg Center for the Arts

This workshop is designed for people with no previous art experience as well as artists interested in exploring a new medium. Participants will create an abstract collage on a 12”x12” wood panel. They will choose papers from a wide collection of hand-painted, patterned, and vintage papers, selecting images that speak to them, literal images or abstract shapes and patterns.

Catherine provides a non-judgmental and supportive setting where participants can feel comfortable and challenge themselves to respond intuitively to their art while unleashing their creativity. She will discuss layering materials, creating texture, how to create a composition and abstraction, and at the end, they will participate in a group share. All materials are provided.

We are asking students to provide proof of vaccination upon arrival. Any students unable to be vaccinated due to medical conditions or religious beliefs will need to provide proof of a negative Covid test. Everyone is required to wear masks indoors.
