Watercolor Workshop for Beginners and Intermediates at HCA

Join watercolorist Judson Monroe for a lively, step-by-step approach to watercolor painting techniques and concepts. Students at any level will gain practical knowledge about watercolor paint, paper, brushes and other supplies while learning the basics of composition, colors, light and shadow and more. Judson will offer short demos and easy subject materials to help students get acquainted with and practice watercolor’s unique properties. Students will have the opportunity to advance by learning to copy master paintings. This practice has been used to hone artist’s skills for centuries, and is an exercise that helps students no matter their level of experience. It also provides a comfortable exercise for anyone’s very first effort with watercolor. Judson recommends master copies to anyone who has always been interested in, but, intimidated by watercolor.
