Todd Snider’s music incorporates elements of folk, rock, blues, alt-country, and funk. Rolling Stone has called him “America’s sharpest musical storyteller,” while The New Yorker has written about his “perfect timing, mastery of tiny details, and sharply funny, lyrical songs.” Snider uses much of his storytelling to pay homage to friends gone too soon including John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker, Neal Casal, and Colonel Bruce Hampton. But typical of a Snider live show, his stage banter also veers into one-of-a-kind road tales like conversing with haunted ghost children in California, raising hell with the inventor of Crocs in Montana, and misadventures in the woods behind Johnny Cash’s house in Tennessee. Ryan Montbleau is opening for Todd Snider. Honesty and vulnerability have been hallmarks of Montbleau’s career since the early 2000’s when he first began performing around his native Massachusetts. In the years to come, he’d go on to collaborate with artists as diverse as Martin Sexton, Trombone Shorty, Tall Heights, and Galactic, and share bills with stars like Tedeschi Trucks Band, Ani DiFranco, The Wood Brothers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Mavis Staples. It was his ecstatic headline shows—often more than 200 of them a year—that solidified his reputation as a roots rock powerhouse.
