ZO Wines is owned by David Eckert, whose vineyard was originally planted in 1999. The initial planting covered Zinfandel and Petite Sirah variety of grapes. In 2019, they replanted the vineyard with 15 distinct varietals, including Chardonnay, Cab Franc, Sauvignon Blanche, among others.
ZO Wines vineyard extends its hospitality to include the availability to stay overnight and to capture the full experience of life in the California vineyard. This heart to present a fuller and complete understanding of this once-in-a-lifetime experience goes back to David’s time spent living in Japan, where he learned the value of giving someone a life experience (and not just a product).
The wine tasting experiences at Zo Wines are by appointment only and available every 90 minutes. The ambience is very casual, with tremendous Japanese influence. There’s a gazebo tasting area outdoors next to its country style house. There’s a dinner table on the back porch of the house which overlooks a wonderful backyard and provides beautiful views the vineyards. The landscaping is immaculate with greenery magnificently flourishing throughout. They also provide farm-style overnight stays.
