Volunteer Workday Tasks: This week we will be giving our thanks to the land by pulling French Broom. French Broom (Genista monspessulana) is an invasive plant that grows very fast and grows in dense stands. If left unchecked they can overshadow the understory plant community and become a fuel ladder. For this workday, you’ll help to manage french broom that grows beneath the canopies of the oaks and madrones. This land management task supports biodiversity in the oak woodlands and encourages the forest to be more resilient in the face of wildfire
