When you cross over Healdsburg’s Memorial Bridge and continue west, after a few blocks and on your right-hand side you’ll see a traditional American drive-in style burger joint… with a bit extra.
Originally established in the 1950’s as the Healdsburger Drive-in, current owner David Alioto keeps the nostalgia of the American Drive-In alive and well for folks who love an ‘American Graffiti’ flair. David has a storied past, having worked in professional baseball for the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s, but now he has a new love.
Today, David’s passion is Healdsburger and it’s become known for some seriously big burgers – as well as ones for normal appetites. Their hamburgers, onion rings, fries and selection of cold beer and sodas is more than enough to fill any wanderer’s appetite. And if you order from the top of their menu board, you’ll likely end up with dinner for two under a single bun (major burgers).
There’s also salads, ice cream and shakes, hot dogs, kids meals – more than enough for everyone to waddle away happy!
Everything is cooked fresh, so it may take a few minutes for your order to be delivered to your table – but rest assured, it’s well worth it!
So, if you want to take your little ones or your ‘high school sweetheart’ out for a good old fashioned soda fountain style date – think Healdsburger.
