Landmark Vineyards
Aging their wines in French oak barrels since Landmark Vineyards was established in 1974, the great-great-granddaughter of John Deere (inventor of the steel plow) and her co-owners have amassed a team that utilizes an intricate process to produce great wines. The naturally occurring wild yeasts from the oak barrels ferments the wine, giving it a rare and rich depth of flavor rarely matched.
Landmark Vineyard’s wide array of wines has achieved some of the highest acclaim from local wine critics and wine lovers. These aromatic wines expressed deep, rich flavors. It is this vineyard’s perspective, that good wines begin with the selection of the grapes themselves. And yet, as important as this is, it is merely the first step in achieving your satisfaction after you’ve sipped it for the first time.
Landmark Vineyards is located in a beautiful Château style barn-like building that is over 100 years old. It is accompanied by a small pond which you can sit overlooking either outdoors or from the tasting room’s bar. Donna, its manager, is an exceptionally bright and cheerful young lady who will gladly show you around this beautiful antique building and share with you an in-depth understanding of their wines.
