Martorana family began making wine in Italy several generations ago. The family’s children tended grapes as they were growing, and in 1939 two of the sisters set course for the United States. The other three siblings remained back in Italy, where they remain today.

As the two sisters arrived in San Francisco 1939, they went to work with their uncle who operated the Sonoma Hills Wine Company. In 1941 one of the sisters, Clara, married and she and her husband moved to the Dry Creek region of Sonoma County. The next two generations from that marriage now run the Martorana Family Winery. They produce Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanche, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Rose.
