Healdsburg Wineries

Michel-Schlumberger
Michel-Schlumberger Estates’ vineyards were first planted in 1979. Jean-Jacques Michael, originally a native of Switzerland, had traveled across much of northern California looking for the perfect location, and the perfect land to begin a vineyard and winery. Immediately, he saw the potential the Dry Creek Valley presented, with its climate, rich soils, and the ocean mist that blankets its fields in the evening.
He sought to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc grapes. He felt uniquely tasting red wines could be captured from the carved hills of the Dry Creek Valley region. In 1991, Jacques Schlumberger joined the Healdsburg winery team and brought with him over 400 years of his family’s winemaking legacy, and the Michel-Schlumberger label began. Over the years the caliber of wine and the beauty of the vineyards in the winery itself became world-renowned.
Now under new management, the traditions brought about by these men continue to be captured and bottled at the Michel-Schlumberger Wine Estates, where they make Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet, Zinfandel and Syrah.
This winery has the feel of an estate. It has a nice inner court yard with a long Koi-style pool.
