I was surprised to find so many Mexican restaurants in Healdsburg and wondered what makes one Mexican restaurant different from another? Turns out, there’s quite a variety in cuisine styles and regional influences among the Mexican restaurants Healdsburg has to offer.

Agave Healdsburg

Agave is located in the Safeway shopping plaza, and is a spacious family oriented Mexican restaurant frequented by many locals. It has an authentic, beautifully decorated cantina that serves tequila, mezcal, margaritas, cerveza, and an array of specialty cocktails like their famous Michelada.

Many of their dishes accentuate Mexico’s Oaxacan region cuisine, including Enmoladas and Mole Negro. This specialty fare, along with Agave’s vegetarian and seafood dishes, make for exceptional Mexican dining.

Walk-ins are welcome, however reservations are a good idea. There’s ample seating for large groups and dress code is casual to casually nice. Average dinner plates range from $15 – $30. There’s outdoor seating (heated at night) and plenty of available parking.

Guiso Latin Fusion

Fusion of Latin American and Caribbean cuisine served in a charmingly quaint, vibrant and culturally artistic white tablecloth ambiance. Exceptional array of dishes merging crisp, perfectly sautéed vegetables with your selection of seafood, lamb, beef, fish, pork or poultry – all with a South American flair. Accentuated with an excellent selection of wine and delightful desserts, this is a brilliant option for lunch or dinner. Gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are also available.

Walk-ins are welcome, however reservations are best. Seating is intimate and dress code is casual to casually nice. Average dinner plates range from $30 – $75. Parking is available in the parking lot and on the street.

Mexican Restaurant Cantina Healdsburg

 

El Farolito Healdsburg

Quaint cantina and Mexican restaurant tucked around the corner from Healdsburg’s Fountain Square. Rustic setting with authentic Mexican artwork, comfortable seating and a nice mix of tequila, mezcal, margaritas, cerveza, and cocktails to enjoy.

Specialize in foods from the Oaxaca and Jalisco regions of Mexico; including seafood dishes, as well as grilled steak and onions specially prepared with Mexican spices. Average dinner plate runs $15 – $25, plus cocktails. Daily specials are posted on a chalk board outside and you can also ahead order online.

El Farolito is more of a sit down restaurant than taqueria, in a calmly lit atmosphere where reservations are typically not required. Can accommodate large groups of people but really more suited for smaller groups (larger groups should call for reservations). Dinner plates average from $15 – $25. Dress code is casual. Parking is available along the street or around Fountain Square. You can also pre-order online.

Taqueria Guadalajara Healdsburg

Nice little local taqueria with good, fast Mexican food. Walk-up to the order window, make a selection from the board above, have a seat and you’ll have your food in about 5 to 10 minutes. Specialty is Huevos a la Mexicana. They also serve a Ceviche dish. No cocktails but cerveza is available.

Tables set for seating 4 to 8 guests and can be moved together for larger groups. Dress code is totally casual, and dinner plates run from $10 – $20. This Mexican restaurant is in a small strip plaza with its own parking lot, and is near the second Highway 101 exit ramp into Healdsburg (across from the McDonald’s).

Taqueria Guadalajara is open from 9:00am to 9:00pm seven days a week, and are located at 125 Healdsburg Avenue in Healdsburg. (707) 433-1052.

 

Mexican Seafood Dinner Healdsburg

 

Taqueria El Sombrero Healdsburg

In a hurry? This is your local taqueria with good, fast Mexican food right next to Fountain Square. Walk-up to the order window, choose your selections from the board above, grab a seat and you’ll have your food in about 5 to 10 minutes. They have all your Mexican fast food favorites like tacos, burritos, enchiladas, along with some shrimp and ceviche dishes. They serve a few cocktails and an ample supply of cerveza on hand. And you can order ahead online.

Four-chair tables can be moved together for larger groups and there’s a few small tables outside on nice summer days. Dress code is totally casual, and dinner plates run from $10 – $20. Parking is along the street or around Fountain Square.

Taqueria El Sombrero is open from 10:00am to 9:00pm Mondays through Fridays and 9:00am to 9:00pm Saturdays and Sundays. They are located at 245 Center Street in Healdsburg. (707) 433-3818

El Taco Grande Healdsburg

A little north of a taqueria, this small family Mexican restaurant is a favorite with the locals. With big portions, and a more relaxed atmosphere, you can pop-in for a nice quick Mexican lunch or dinner and be on your way in no time with this friendly family owned restaurant.

They serve seafood dishes, soups, traditional Mexican favorites, cerveza and a few nice cocktails, making this a relaxing, pleasant option for a Mexican lunch or dinner on the go.

There’s comfortable table and booth seating, and attire is totally casual. Dinner plates run $8 – $14, and there’s lots of parking (it’s in the same plaza as one of our Hidden Gems).
